edit:

shouldnt make assumptions that you know what i’m talking about. theres a pogrom going on right now against the uzbeks in kyrgzystan. over 100 dead, over 1000 injured

what stands out to me during the whole internal conflict in kyrgyzstan is uzbekistan. russia would like to pull them by the back of the neck and put them in a bunch of treaties and deals that essentially puts them in energy slave status like the rest of the stans but theyve been bucking the past couple of years.

their refusual to try and use the instability as the base of some type of underhanded campaign against the uzbeks tell me russia might have just said “fuck it”. maybe theyre taking a less aggressive route than they have with the ukraine. its that or the rumors of the violence being manufactured by kurmanbek bakiyev’s brothers are true. I couldn’t imagine them having the pull or the resources, even with them being untouchable in certain parts of tajikistan to really make a dent in the the kyrg’s standing government
